From research to innovation to reality<\/h2>\n

With new forms of care and innovative technologies, we can make the healthcare system more sustainable, patient-oriented and economical. But what brings the greatest benefit to people? Which interventions are particularly efficient? And how can they be integrated into standard care? We want to provide answers to these and other questions and are working together with experts from all over the world in numerous national and international research and “Innovationsfonds” projects. Our focus areas are: Health data analytics, patient-centered care and the implementation of (digital) innovations. We cooperate closely with our healthcare regions, for example in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg and North Hesse, with various research institutions and associations, such as the International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services<\/a>, which we lead. <\/p>\n

We develop and implement validated questionnaires for a range of target groups, including patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders. The negative effects of climate change on human health and our planet have long been recognised. Less well known is that the healthcare sector accounts for 6.7 percent of total greenhouse gas emissions in Germany. <\/p>\n

One of the goals of integrated care models is to reduce unnecessary or burdensome treatments for patients. We are currently developing methods to measure the carbon footprint of care pathways. Our objective is not only to enhance quality and efficiency through new care models, but also to lower CO2 emissions in the healthcare sector. <\/p>\n
