New faces at OptiMedis – Harkness Fellowship

Dr. Alexander PimperlDr. Alexander PimperlThings are happening in the OptiMedis team: our head of Health Data Analytics, Dr. Alexander Pimperl, has been awarded the Commonwealth Fund’s Harkness Fellowship in Health Care Policy and Practice, one of the most prestigious and coveted healthcare scholarships in the world. Starting in summer, he is spending a year at the University of California in Berkeley, where he will be working on the topic “Performance Measurement in ACOs in the U.S. and Germany: From external reporting requirements to enabling internal performance management”. The programme permits deep insights into the American healthcare sector and offers excellent opportunities for networking with global experts. Alexander Pimperl plans to return to OptiMedis AG on completion of the year.

Dr. Oliver GröneDr. Oliver GröneDr. Oliver Gröne, a new member of the OptiMedis team, started on 1 September as Head of Research & Development. He will continue to expand Research & Development, develop and implement the regional integrated healthcare contracts, as well as work on accelerating international expansion. Oliver Gröne has worked in healthcare research and policy for 15 years: Before joining OptiMedis he was Senior Lecturer in Health Services Research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and led national processes of evaluation and improvement in healthcare quality and patient safety. He also worked for 7 years at the World Health Organization, where he managed the ´Quality of Health Systems´ programme. Oliver Gröne studied Sociology at the University of Bielefeld and Public Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine on a DAAD scholarship.  His doctoral dissertation was completed at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. He has also completed study and research stints at the Harvard School of Public Health, the Joint Commission in the USA, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the University of New South Wales, Sydney and Macquarie University, Sydney.

Olga BrüwerOlga BrüwerWe also have a new face in Data Analytics: Olga Brüwer has been part of the team since October 2014. Her core focus is on the commercial and health evaluation of our own and external projects, and the development of accounting and reporting systems such as the supply chain cockpit. She has a Master of Science in Healthcare Policy, Innovation and Management from University of Maastricht.
