Through the patient’s eyes: 25 years of quality and safety research and the challenges ahead

Since the publication of the seminal book "Through the Patient’s Eyes: Understanding and Promoting Patient-Centered Care" health care systems evolved throughout the world. Patient-centered care has become a guiding strategy of reforming health services and the patient safety movement released substantial resources to improve patient safety and involve patients in improvement efforts. So, can the patient-centered care and patient safety reform agendas be considered completed? The obvious answer to this question is of course no.
